Electric cars are the cars of the future, but today are powered by a single internal battery that you charge into an outlet before use and drains while you drive. This is an ecological solution to conventional combustion engines, but has a big problem in itself. This problem is that electric cars cannot travel long distances without recharging, the range being only a couple hundred miles. This would leave you stranded if you are caught far from a capable recharging station. My design would add a series of 4-5 small wind turbines on the front grill attached to individual shafts with large gears on the end of each. This gear would transfer to a second shaft with a smaller gear on it which would feed into a small generator. These generators would be linked to the battery. As wind is blown into the turbines via the car moving forward, this would charge the battery. The energy created would not be enough to keep the battery charged indefinitely, but would prolong battery life while in motion. This would make it easier to make long distance trips in a solely electric car by increasing the chance of making it between charging stations.
