Car CD Slot Mounted Phone or Tablet Holder

This design is the final (and successful) attempt at creating a mount for an extra Android Phone that I use in my vehicle to display additional vehicle statistics and metrics (such as AFR, Boost, MAP/MAF metrics, etc). I have bought and printed a number of phone mounts but have never really been happy with where/how it was mounted, and/or how the wiring ended up being seated. This design is clean, pretty well hidden, and provides me with a solid platform for viewing all of my statistics (I live in Texas and the roads here are rather rough, however the mount has not budged since I slipped it into the CD Slot). I designed the base from scratch in TinkerCAD, but the peg mount adapter I re-used from an STL file that I saved to my computer from another design but I didn't save the 'Thingiverse' page where I found it - if I end up finding it, I will give the designer their proper credit. So, with all that being said, here are the details: basically you will want to print the main mount (<i>CD_Slot_Phone_Holder.stl</i>), as well as the peg mount that attaches to your phone or table case. If you want the phone or tablet to be angled, please print the angled wedge (or design your own if you need a different angle). In my case (and observed in the attached photos), I printed a simple/basic case for an extra Galaxy A12 that I had, then epoxied the wedge and peg mount to the case - once dried, I hooked it into the main holder and slid it into the CD Player Slot in my Passat. Before gluing, screwing, or epoxy'ing anything together, I would suggest testing the setup in your vehicle to ensure clearances are properly maintained. Also, I had printed one of these for a friend but ended up finding out that his CD slot was slightly smaller than mine so we simply cut portions of the insert about 2mm on each side. Enjoy! Cheers!
