I printed this in black PETG and used white ink to color in the lettering some years ago and it worked great, though I had always wished the original design was made with a thicker shaft and so I beefed up the original design until I had something that should be much more stiffly built and confidence inspiring able to take on any situation or rough roads. = ) The countersunk (fine threaded) screws and nuts for the brackets should be M4. (The original author used standard/SAE screws) You might need to gently drill out, sand down, add a few drops of oil, (greatly helps with the motion) and size the length of screws and bolts to best fit your particular steering wheel. The coarse screw for the knob should be a wood or a sheet metal screw of around or less than 1 inch long with a fairly aggressive thread pattern to bite into the inner layers of the steering knob. I can't remember the size/diameter I used, but it wasn't much larger than an inch long and 2.5-3.5mm in diameter. Print all your models with thick walls, supports, and moderate/low infill. The knob is designed with several "floating wafers" that make use of your top/bottom layers setting. In this way, there will always be a set/series of top/bottom walls in path of the (coarse) threaded screw, so no matter what infill percentage you use, there will always be material for your threaded screw to bite into. (To save on material usage, the knob does not need to be printed with solid infill.) You can see this inner layer design in preview mode (in Cura) just before you hit 'slice'. = ) Try to use walls that are 2mm thick Top and bottom layers that are 1.5mm+ thick Infill 15%-25% (Cubic and gradual infill steps works great.) If you have or spot any problems, let me know and I'll do my best to post an update! Stay creative everyone and happy travels! = D
