Carabiner with Locking Joint

Carabiner with Locking Joint

thingiverse

A friend of mine broke one of the carabiner clips that he used to attach to one side of his binoculars. I attempted a few times to make it by doing 3D scans, but after discovering what a pain in the tail that is, I just decided to remodel it in Tinkercad. I used haqnmaq's carabiner but made it way beefer so it wouldn't snap. After two test prints, I landed on a size that worked just fine and should withstand a normal amount of stress as they just hold on to jump rings on the binoculars themselves. If you've got stronger plastic than PLA, it wouldn't be a bad idea to print it. All I've got besides PLA is ABS though, I didn't feel like calibrating my printer for it for the first time. I printed it with the longest flat end on the bed and supports on, but halfway through the print I realized I could've just done it on the "thin" side and had to use less support. If you want to adapt this to your own needs, here's the Tinkercad link: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/0ltwugWhWi6
