Cardboard spool cap

Cap to (hopefully) keep your spindle from ruining your cardboard spool. I made a cardboard spool (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1550) a few weeks ago. I finally got tired enough of hand-feeding filament (and occasionally ruining a part as the z platform was pulled off the nuts by filament tension) to suspend my spool over the Makerbot. Instructions 0) Resize if necessary. My spindle is 8mm, so I use 10 mm for the spindle hole. 1) Print two. 2) Push one in on each side of your cardboard spool, with the sleeve & spikes going into the spool. If the spikes don't want to go in, pull it off & make guide holes with a nail. 3) Hot glue or otherwise adhere the cap to the cardboard if you don't think the friction will keep it.
