<p>As someone that has always been interested in carnivorous plants, I was interested in designing a pot that made growing carnivores a simple task. The normal recommended method for raising most carnivorous plants is for them to sit in 1 to 2 inches of water. For most set-ups, this requires the pot to sit in a tray of water. This tray becomes a nuisance as it can spill, requires more work to move the plant when needed and is not an overall sleek look. With this pot designed by me, you basically have the tray built into the pot creating a miniature of what is called a bog pot setup. I normally line the bottom of the pot with small lava rock to allow even water distribution through the bottom, then I top it off with an 80/20 mix of peat moss and perlite. The chimney on the pot is designed for you to be able to monitor what the water levels are in the pot at all times. You will also add water through the chimney as needed. The ball.stl is used as a float in the chimney and is basically a visual aid to help you clearly see where the water level is at. I normally print the ball in a neon yellow or other highly visible color. My suggestion is to print this using pet-g but it can also be printed with pla. Trying to make the print water tight is one of the more important steps as this will be holding a couple of inches of water in the bottom and will leak if its not water tight. I easily manage this with pet-g using at least 4 bottom layers, moving the extrusion multiplier to 1.1 and then turning the nozzle temperature up 10 degrees above default settings. I sell plants for a living and we have been selling carnivorous plants in these pots for a year now and the feedback has been great!</p>
