Carpenter's Pencil Clip for Glasses

Carpenter's Pencil Clip for Glasses

My brother-in-law is a cabinet maker. He wears the same type thin rimmed glasses as I do. When he saw my "Pencil Clip for Glasses" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3716495), he asked if I could design one for those flattened, eight-sided carpenter's pencils. This is the result of that request. There are two versions included here. Version 1 is a larger version of the "Pencil Clip for Glasses" design. It holds carpenters pencils AND writing pencils AND a standard Bic pen. Version 2 is a different clip idea. It holds the flat pencils a bit more securely than V1, but it will not hold writing pencils. V2 will hold a standard Bic pen. While I can not promise that this will hold all carpenter's pencils, both have been tested and will hold Dixon and Home Depot brand pencils (Yes, they actually do have different dimensions). I like the V1 best, because of it's versatility, but I designed two versions and thought there would be little harm in offering both here. Printer's choice of which you like best. IMPORTANT: This will not work on every pair of glasses. The side-pieces of my glasses are 3mm tall by 1.2mm wide. If you wear thick-rimmed hipster glasses, this will not work for you. This was also designed to take advantage of flexible frame glasses. Don't break your glasses trying to make this fit. Avoid an "I told you so."
