This is designed to spot clean carpets using a wet vacuum with a 1.25 (1 1/4) inch hose. The outer diameter of the attachment point on the hose is 1-1/4" so the inner diameter of this attachment is close to 1-1/4" as well. My wet vacuum didn't come with a carpet attachment and purchasing one was at least 20% of the cost of the vacuum. I haven't used this tool frequently, but it has held up so far. The ridges will likely collect material over time so you may want to wash it, but that's true of most vacuum tools.
