da Vinci 1.0. "cartridge-plug" for use with an Arduino MICRO or UNO to reset cartridge counter. If you follow my description i'm not responsable for your faults or occuring damages. You may damage your pc, printer and arduino, or wathever you use and may loose your warranties. The resetting works only with earlier FW-versions of daVinci 1.0 (think before 1.2.3), but you can downgrade your daVinci just looking for the bossac-tool (manual version) or xyzdowngrader (automatic version) in Voltivo forum or other places. Only go on, when your FW fits the needs. You can also buy several version of resetting hardware and tools on voltivo-website. Here is my alternative (using FW 1.1.J): Print the plug (maybe you have to widen the holes for the springpins - depends on your hardware) Solder some wires on the pins, press them in the holes and connect them to your preferred Arduino. Prepare your Arduino ... The Arduino is programmed with Arduino IDE 1.5.8 and script from Voltivo (found in GitHub: https://github.com/voltivo or Voltivo forum). Use USB-Power or other, depends on your needs, and put the plug on your cartridge-counter. A few seconds later (watch LED) your counter will be reset. Printer works pretty good with non-xyz filament, but will fail with an error if lenght-parameter in Arduino script is set >240m (maybe depend on FW). In a future version all the stuff will be inserted in a dummy cartridge and resetting will be done by using a simple switch (LED indicates ON/OFF and READY-status) to turn from reading into programming mode. You will not have to remove the inserted cartdridge nor switch the printer off ... Update: Now it's done - All the stuff fits in a dummy cartridge and works like described above. The connector is now no longer required, a small custom built pcb-board makes the connection between cartridge ( counter ) and printer. The printer works very well with filament from different manufacturers. In cooperation with the FW 1.1.J and Simplify3D printing with ABS and PLA filament works, too. The only thing that remains is that the counter has to be reset after 240m of filament. Update: Maybe the newest modification inspire you on your way to experiment with your Da Vinci 1.0. There are a few small modifications: An externally accessible reset button and direct access to the SD card. Thus, experiments with different FW are very simple and it also opens up the possibility to use a WiFi SD card or replace the SD card Instructions ABS print in medium quality with 3 layers , 2 perimeters and 20-25 % infill will fit your needs
