This case is designed to hold an ESP8266 chip and a DC step-down converter for use as a WLED controller (see https://kno.wled.ge). I designed and tested this specifically for items from AZ-Delivery: LM2596S DC-DC Netzteil Adapter Step down Modul https://www.az-delivery.de/products/lm2596s-dc-dc-step-down-modul-1 and D1 Mini NodeMcu https://www.az-delivery.de/products/d1-mini Assembly: - Solder a 2 wire (e.g. red/black) to INPUT of DC-Converter. Thread through left channel - Solder a 2 wire (e.g. red/black) to OUTPUT of DC-Converter. Thread through right entry, exit towards ESP8266 bed - thread 3-wire cable (e.g. red/green/white) from plug (goes to LED strip) into right channel. Red and white go towards the step-down, the green goes out towards the ESP 8266. Solder red and white to OUTPUT of step-down (see picture 1). - Connect input, adjust output voltage to achieve 5V - Shorten the three wires that go out on top, then solder to ESP8266: red (from step-down OUTPUT) to 5V, black (from step-down OUTPUT) to GND, green (from LED-connector plug) to D4 of the ESP8266 - To secure the lid, use four 2x10 wood screws. Connect LED to plug, connect INPUT line to DC power. Install software from http://kno.WLED.ge - done!
