Enlisted graffiti noted near doorway in casement, depicting name, date and regiment information for a soldier stationed at the Castillo de San Marcos . Historical graffiti is found carved into the walls throughout the fort. These carvings and drawings often include names, military companies, states, and dates. Here we see: “WILLIAM D/ OF PHIL BRIG” with this likely meaning Philadelphia Brigade. Other words are not entirely discernible in this area.
