They fit snugly to provide a temporary cover for the can. I feed my cats a combination of kibble and canned food. They each get one 3 oz. can per day, so I find these lids preferable for the short time storage in the refrigerator.</p> <p><em>FYI: I bought a Friskies 3.0 oz. can of "Fish &amp; Shrimp Feast Flaked" today that is way oversized. I tried using the flexible lids from the vet's office and they would not fit either.
