Cat Tree Top Brace (4x4 post)

Cat Tree Top Brace (4x4 post)

Our cats are rough on their toys. We bought a floor to ceiling cat tree. Unfortunately, the cats destroyed it, because they used cardboard tubes as the structure. I did repair it several times, and put anchors into the ceiling to keep it from falling. They still destroyed it. So I figured that using a 4x4 would be more than strong enough. It'd be strong enough for actual panthers, these house panthers won't break it. I didn't have a nice, pretty, way to brace it on the ceiling. So I made this. I waited a year before posting this, just in case the cats did manage to destroy it. You will need at least two drywall anchors to put into the ceiling. I'm only using two. You will also need wood screws to attach the pole to the base. The cross brace with the circle is for marking the center of the other pole sections. I figured I may as well put it here, than mess around with trying to find the centers of the other sections with a ruler and pencil. I did not cut off the alignment section. My plan was to cut it off, but that didn't seem necessary when the time came. You are free to download and use this for personal use. If you use it in a commercial product, contact me first. It is the same object in all the different file formats. If you want to modify it, the Fusion 360 f3d file is included.
