The 3 trays are connected to each other with pivoting pins that allow it to move into a tiered formation while you are playing, and into a stacked position when it is ready for storage. It save you precious table top space and makes setup and cleanup much quicker. This also fits in with the Catan + Seafareres organizer and player trays that I have on here.
