I was tired of paying a lot of money for a really nice, and light weight Mattebox for a gimbal or steadicam

So I made this! Hope you like it, I worked really hard on it.

Print instructions

Hey friends! I moved this over from Thingiverse because good good that place is slow!

Heres all my updates copied over.

So I really was getting sick of looking for a light weight mattebox for gimbal and steadicam stuff, so I made this. Id like any ideas to improve / make lighter.

It can fit (as far as I can tell) 4inch by 5.65inch, filters. Some day I want to make it able to use two filters, but honestly pro-mist is getting replaced by post anywho. The first ring I made works with lenses that are 114mm lenses, however I think ill be making smaller rings as well? not sure!

few notes, Ill make smaller rings latter, if you don't want to wait, feel free to make a few some your self! the rings will change but the back plate should stay the same? I think?

Other note: Once I finish this project and im happy with it, I will take it down a month after, then start selling it, so get it well the gettin's good.

<oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PCFBKIXGjU&feature=youtu.be"></oembed>

PARTS LIST:

1 80mm M4 Bolt
3 40mm M4 Bolts
6 M4 Nuts
9 M3 Nuts
5 12mm M3 Bolts
1 30mm M3 Bolt
3 15mm M3 Bolts

UPDATE::

I fixed the filter latch from preventing filters to enter the chamber.. sorry about that, and I added a 83MM clamp, this should work for Rokinon 35mm lenses.

UPDATE2::

Added 77mm clamp
Added 15mm mount
Fixed the flag so it does not get in the way of the top bolt.

UPDATE3::

The first version of the rod mount was kinda jank so this one makes it super strong. Its (with 25% infill and a 4 line width) 200 grams with the 15mm rod adapter, without its closer to 156 grams, however my scale is not awesome.
-side note: you will need to print the 15mm rod mounts with some kind of support. Sorry about that. :(

UPDATE4::

The CazBox got a little smaller! It now fits on the Prusa Mini! and also a little lighter. The only other part that needs re-printing is the flag.

UPDATE5::
I Re-worked the main box and the flag a bit so they can be lighter and stronger. Print time should go up but that's okay. I also flipped the main ring around so the clamp screw is at the top instead of the bottom. Your going to need a m4 (8.3mm D) washer to keep it sold. Ill upload some pics when I get my new prusa mini. in like... a few months. :( sold my CR-10.

I hope to do a assembly tutorial at some point so stay tuned for that!

UPDATE6:: (3/4/2020)

Last update for a wile, I'm done with the main body and all that's left now is the filters. I might want to make a magnetized way of attaching the 15mm clamp but that's for later.

UPDATE7: (3/21/2020)

MOVED TO PRUSA!

Ill be doing a tutorial on how to make in a HOT hot second <3 gada, get my mini first :(

Updated:

-Flag is lighter and stronger
-Fixed issue where the glass would sometimes not fit in the cavity
-Fixed hole alignment issue
-Now printable almost completely without supports
-Added CazBox <3 Logo

-love you all
