The STL file was crafted by three immunology students at the University of Toulouse, including Marie, Luice, and Wendy. They enabled printing of the CD28 molecule. This "Thing" was created within a pedagogical scenario that introduced students to examining and handling 3D structures, resulting in a gallery of portraits featuring molecules with immunological interest. The printing took place at CampusFab, the University LabLab, which is also known as @fablabups on Twitter. Printer Settings: MakerBot Brand: MakerBot Replicator 2 Printer Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes How I Designed This Instructions: The 3D structure of the protein was obtained from the Protein Data Bank with accession number 4R0L. It was downloaded using the .gz extension, then adapted for 3D printing using Chimera software and saved as an STL file. It was printed on a MakerBot Replicator.
