Ceiling Fan Globe

Ceiling Fan Globe

This is a replacement globe for ceiling fan light fixture. It is about 11" wide and the center section is about 4". My printer can't quite handle 11" diameter, so the model is split three pieces. Instructions The model is designed for printing in Spiral mode. I printed it on my Rostock Max v2 using a 0.4mm nozzle with 0.8mm thickness, 0.2mm layers at 60mm/s. If you printer is capable of printing the part in one piece, you can comment out the line in the scad file which splits it up. If you are assembling from three prints: Each piece will print with two unwanted walls. Use something (scissors work well) to cut those out (see the photos). Break out some of the central post. Leave about an inch. Glue the three pieces together. Since I printed in ABS, I used acetone as glue. This is rather annoying since acetone is hard to control. A thicker glue would be less of a pain.
