Ceiling Fan Light Cover

Ceiling Fan Light Cover

A long time ago I had broken and failed to replace the light bulb cover (it's not a shade... I'm not sure what to call it) on a ceiling fan in the house. Sick of staring at a bare bulb - I decided I could print a replacement. One of the largest volume print I've made to date (printerbot plus). It took five and a half hours to print, but I'm happy with the look. Finished and mounted - I really like the way the light passes through the PLA - I think it's better looking than the original glass. I may replace the others in the house. Instructions Print - I used PLA as I enjoy how the light passes through. The cover is designed to go over the fan's mount as I found the color and pattern of the mount to be gaudy, and I wanted an air gap to ensure cooling. I hand drilled holes to mount it, and just used some drywall screws that I had handy to mount it. Check your light bulb's operating temperature - too high a wattage bulb may melt your material. Enjoy!
