Use these rings and some solar film (like baader or thousand oaks) to create a solar filter. 1) place a bead of glue on the smaller diameter side of the smaller ring (it has a slight taper) and glue the smaller ring to the black side of the film. I used black RTV to ensure no light leaks 2) once cured, trim the film with a razor blade 3) place a bead of glue on the inner step of the larger ring and glue the film/ring assembly into the larger ring. you can see the black rtv I used for this reflected on the solar film in the picture 4) for maximum security, bond the small and large rings together by running a soldering iron set to low over the seam make sure the ring fits reasonably snug on your scope and can't fall or be blown off, because your retina can be damaged faster than you can blink
