This simple print enables you to convert your Celestron CG-3 equatorial mount to a 'traditional' 3/8 thread mount. You will need: 1 x 3/8-16 UNC 1.5" bolt 1 x 3/8-16 UNC nut 1 or more M10 x 40 washers (I used 2) Print 'Center 20220725' and 'Retaining nut spacer 20220726'. I used 4 x walls and 60% infill which seems pretty strong. Remove the existing CG-3 mount and it's retaining bolt. Put your washers on your bolt, then put the 'Retaining nut spacer 20220726' on the bolt with the flat side towards the bolt head. You can use one or more washers to ensure that the height of the exposed bolt thread is 'just the right height'. If the exposed bolt thread height is too much then you may have problems securely attaching some devices to the mount. Put your nut in the 'Center 20220725'. Screw the bolt up and into the CG-3 mount. The CG-3 mount hole is size M10 which is a little larger than 3/8". You won't be able to freely slide the bolt up into the mount, it'll require a little turning. Once the bolt is fully inserted up and into the mount, put your 'Center 20220725' down onto the bolt thread and tighten the nut and bolt. Get them as tight as possible without overtightening. All done - you can now attach any 'standard tripod 3/8 tripod thread' device to your CG-3 mount.
