Celestron EDGEHD 11 - 40mm Cooling Fan vent Interface

This is an homebrew idea very loosely inspired by the TEMPest cooling system. These are adapter plates for 2 x cooling fan for the vent ports on the Celestron EdgeHD 11. They can be affixed using the original vent screws and sandwiching a filter in between the port hole and plate is recommended to prevent dust contaminating the imaging train. There is two version included, I used one for the inlet and the other for the outlet. You'll note that both are identical with the exception that the outlet model has a semi circular extrusion on the OTA side as to allow a temp/hum sensor cable inside the OTA. I used m3-10mm screws and m3-5.5mm hexnuts to affix the 40mm fans. The fan mounting screws should be 32mm appart, that is standard. The hex nuts are inset prior to affixing the plates to the OTA, and ensure they are snug and thread adequately before affixing the OTA. The fan mounting is accomplished after the plate is in place, from the exterior. Use a bead of silicone to render the sensor extrusion airtight. These are the fans I used... 9CR0412S501 - Axial Fan, San Ace 40 Series, 12 V, DC, 40 mm, 56 mm, 57.5 dBA, 24.7 cu.ft/min but any 40mm will do. Vibrations is not a issue for me because I do not intend to image and cool at the same time...
