The idea behind this desk was to create a minimalist design, with a bit of industrial influence. The frame of he desk is titanium, and the other parts are glass, so it is quite a robust design. The glass panels are heated (becouse nobody likes to touch cold surfaces), and also have an edge led lighting, so the documents placed on the top can be easily readed. One part of the deask can be tilted, this, together with a well adjustable chair offers ergonomic work environment. The desk also has a digitalizer table built in on the righ hand part. The left side shelf offers sufficient coverage for the worker, while the team leader can still observe the work. This is necessary, for as I observed, people doesnt really like if others can see what they are doing on their pc. I tried to incorporate the already used input methods, such as normal keyboard, mouse, and 3D mouse to interact, for the touch screen input, and the motion controlled input methods are not really comfortable, especially not for CAD/CAM. Special thanks to: Darren Van Coller for HP 1510 Printer Andrew Smolkov for RF mouse... Alex Gage for MakerBot Replicator 2X Carlos Sanches for 3D Connexion SpacePilot Pro Prateek Sahay for Z800 Computer Nebule for File Folder Mark Hedron for Pen Christopher Munns for Dell Keyboard WIP: some minor changes, and more renderings are coming ASAP. Update1: Highres redner added. Fixed chair geometry, fixed lighting, minor updates on desk.
