This is a larger format "Magnum" remix of my Trident Revolver Mini Crossbow Pistol.

Video at the bottom

Its bigger, badder and can shoot larger 6.5mm diameter arrows. Heres whats changed:

Increased handle size to accommodate larger hands and make for a better grip

Lengthened the ArrowGuides by ~50% to allow for a more powerful draw

Increased the arrow guide channel diameter to accept 6.5mm diameter arrows (smilar to those used by my Pump Action Repeating Crossbow)

Added a springy arrow retention tab to ArrowGuideTop that helps keep the arrows from falling out when tilted downards

Added a small slot in ArrowGuideTop for a finger to push arrows into the arrow retention tab

Most of the parts are the same as its little brother so you can reuse / upgrade if you have already printed the Trident.

Heres a list of new parts:

LargeHandle_Right / Left

ArrowGuideTop_Long

ArrowGuideBottom_Long

ArrowSled_Large

ArrowRetentionTab

PVC Pipe cut to 180mm length

And here are the parts that are identical to the ones used in the smaller Trident:

StringReleaseHook

FrameStopper

MainTrigger

PipeSpacer

PipeFrontCap

TorsionSpring

RevolverGuideFrame

The print settings and assembly is almost exactly the same as the Trident so please check that page for instructions. Just substitute ArrowGuideTop_Long for ArrowGuideTop, ArrowGuideBottom_Long for ArrowGuideBottom and ArrowSled_Large for ArrowSled

The one assembly difference is that the ArrowRetentionTab should be glued onto the springy long rectangle on the underside of ArrowGuideTop_Long. It should be printed on its side as shown in the image below so that the sloping edge is smooth (printing at other orientations would cause the layer lines to cause too much friction on the arrow's nock when sliding in.

UPDATE: Ive added some new parts that seem to improve the performance: RailChannelInsert can be inserted into the rectangular channel in ArrowGuideBottom to create a continuous surface for arrows to slide along. It should snap into place but you can glue it down so its secure. Next, youll want to replace StringReleaseHook with the new StringReleaseHook_Alt and replace ArrowSled_Large with ArrowSled_Alt.

These modifications help keep the arrow stable and allows the use of pointed arrows without the broadhead blades, which Ive included (Arrow_BulletPoint_Split).

One important note is that the MiniArrows from the Trident are not compatible with the Cerberus without modification. Ive included a new arrow design in the files which has a 6.5mm diameter, a wide bladed head (necessary to guide the arrow along the channel), and larger fins.

While these new arrows are very similar to the ones used in my Pump Action Repeating Crossbow, they have slight differences such as a slightly thinner head (2.5mm compared to 4.5mm) and a longer nock (6mm compared to 2.5mm). This means these arrows arent guaranteed to be cross-compatible.

DISCLAIMER: By downloading these files, you agree that I shall not be liable for any damage, injury or harm resulting directly or indirectly from the use of these files or instructions.
