Chain Links - Belt printer

The idea of belt printers is something that fascinated me and I created a few models, this is one of them! I made 4 versions whilst I tried to understand how belt printers actually print, and then gave this version to @NAK3DDesigns over on Twitter, Karl kindly tested and came up with some tweaks to make it more printable which I have incorporated into the files here.

You can of course just paste multiple versions of this file into your slicer to get the length of chain you desire but there is also a way of making an infinite loop of just one file using some clever belt magic in the gcode your slicer creates, I'll let Karl explain!

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/_Tkl28JM5lo"></oembed>

To accompany this magic you'll need the 3-5 file (v3 of my chain design with 5 links) but if you want to just paste multiple copies for a shorter chain, or even to print on a non-belt printer) then the 3-6 file (v3 design with 6 links) is your friend
