Chainmail connector

Chainmail connector

thingiverse

I made two connectors from the chainmail https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3096598 Using MeshLab, I am able to extract the two components, then using TinkerCAD to cut small gaps. These two connectors are slightly different. Connector 1 is slightly taller than connector 2. They alternate to weave/join together different sizes of chainmail. Or I guess using just one type of connector will do (Note: connector 2 will do). When connecting, watch out the pattern and direction. Connectors may not be easy to print. Suggest to print one first, then may print 9 at once. If your printer is level well and no serious stringing then you may print more at once. Also included is a 9x5 size of chainmail. Using TinkerCAD is easy to combine and make different sizes of chainmail. The image of the chainmail top requires 5 x full size chainmail from the chainmail thing https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3096598, and 6 of 9x5 chainmail in this thing for the two straps, with a number of connectors. Potentially, using the connectors, you may create things such as belts, straps, bags, collages. If you do, please share your creations with links in the comments. Added 19x5 chainmail on 22nd May 2023.
