Chainring Guard - GT

Chainring Guard - GT

thingiverse

The Chainring Guard broke on my son's GT Palomar mountain bike (Guessing 1999). The outside chainring is 48T. The design by PETGore was the closest I found, but mine had an unequal spacing of the mounting holes, it screws in from the other side and the BHC is approx. 160. I did a bunch of measuring and determined that the distance between holes was... 98,98,88,98,88. I couldn't find anything like this available to purchase or print. I took the Fusion 360 file from PETGore and redid the sketch and printed this one. I omitted the actual screw holes and then transferred them from the old one with a small drill bit. It seemed to work. It was a bit of trial and error to get the spacing right. It is still not perfect, but it works. I hope posting this will benefit someone else.
