Chainsaw Bar Support

Chainsaw Bar Support

A light duty support to keep the chain & bar off the workbench. Will allow chain rotation. Body: Designed to be printed at 100% speed. Uses 5 x 50mm bolt & nut. GoPro handle will also work. Two 5mm nuts can be used to pull bolt into place by using a second nut on handle. See image. I added a piece of inner tube (or equal) to the side pad & rounded the bolt end. Body may be secured to a block of wood. Allowing bar support to twist may break it. Bolt Handle: Was designed to be printed with the following criteria. Larger base portion @100% speed with tapered part & small end @ 50% speed using 0.3mm layers. Pull bolt into handle with a over-sized nut & a 5mm nut. Different print speeds will result in slightly different internal diameters. Slower knob base print speed will make the hex hole larger, faster print speed on the tapered portion will make the hole smaller and deform the end. A timer will help with the speed issue. Outer Guide: May be used if chain sharpening. Clean holes with a 5mm drill bit after cooling if necessary. A little crazy glue will secure rubber pad.
