Chambord cylinder shim

Chambord cylinder shim

thingiverse

Designed this shim to moderate tightening of the knit when using Gearhart cylinder needles in my Chambord CSM. May also work on a Legare 400. Note direction of Shim matters. The reasons I use Gearhart needles in my Chambord include: 1) reduced chance of a needle implosion when hanging a toe up toe. 2) place the vcam in the middle of its adjustment range when knitting my tighter knit. 3) reduced likelihood of needles dropping when the uplift cam passes a needle with no stitch on. The shim and needles may not work with all machines or all cylinders. The shim and needles may not support sufficient vcam adjustment range for all yarns. The cylinder mounting bolts must be tightened evenly and lightly when using these shims.
