Channel lock demo

This original design is a simple example of a set of interlocking pieces where an inner channel slides freely within an outer channel. This model has one horizontal nut trap and one hexagonal nut trap. Nut traps should work with #6 (US) machine screws and nuts but also work with M4 (nut trap fits are not as tight). Instructions Print this in ABS and use a rubber mallet to force the inner channel into the outer channel. Print the inner channel with support structures enabled (not needed for the outer channel). File the channel connections lightly using a nail file or needle file so they slide smoothly but are still tight. Printing the inner channel with support structures means you will need to clean out the horizontal (slot) nut trap with an xacto knife. Once it has been assembled you can use a #6-32 pan-head machine screw with two nuts. It should also work with M4 but the hex nut trap will not be as tight.
