Carving found on outcropping to the east of Chattonpark Hill, approximately 1.5 miles ENE of Chatton in Northumberland. Recorded as ‘Chatton 9a’ in the Beckensall Archive, and subsequently added to ERA by the Northumberland & Durham Rock Art Pilot Project in 2008 with the same name. The stone is recorded as having five cups, three of which have single rings and another one has a ring and partial ring. However, it is possible to make out an extremely faint ring / partial ring on the fifth cup on this model. The carver(s) also appear to have utilised or enhanced a rounded raised area on this flat stone and added a cup centrally. Linear marks on the stone are likely to be from plough damage. This source imagery forms part of the NADRAP / ERA archive.
