Checking Fixture Concept

Checking Fixture Concept

grabcad

Concept of a checking fixture for a sheet metal part. The part is a simplified version of a stabilizing plate for the Tama Iron Cobra double drum pedal (in the works - check out the latest I have for my Tama Iron Cobra Drum Pedal). Basic GD&T is applied using key datums (see attached drawing) to check trim lines, two holes and a form. Tolerances are arbitrarily based on the application of the part. Fixture clearance is 5mm for the form and trim lines. MMC for both holes avoids positional pins for each measured hole size. General components for a checking fixture including tooling balls/covers, coordinate plates, toggle clamps, net pad(s), four-way and two-way pins, springs, plug gauges, feeler gauges, etc. are included. Certain components are downloaded models, others are drawn from the Misumi Press Die Components catalog (the majority of downloaded components have been modified). See the Hand Transfer Die assembly that was designed for this part, too. I might update this with the actual part using the same guidelines.
