Cheese Knife

Cheese Knife

thingiverse

This cheese knife was initially designed in Bryce as prop for renders. The obj file was exported from Bryce and imported into ViaCAD as a basis for remodelling and export as STL files. When 3D printing a cheese knife, remember to use high infill to maximise strength. Only use the cheese knife on very soft cheeses and spreads, as the tang is relatively thin. Also, seal the surface with a food-safe coating. There are three versions of the cheese knife: v01 - Complete knife assembly v02 - Individual pieces, without tang detail, for rendering (3 objects) v03 - Individual pieces, incorporating tang detail, for 3D printing (3 objects) In v03, there is about 0.4mm clearance between the tang of the blade and the hole in the handle. This allows for epoxy to join the components. If insufficient clearance, then file down the tang on the blade.
