I had to show a treadplate/chequreplate finish, I was not happy with the Solidworks standard patterns, so created my own. It's not a perfect match on the tiles, but very close, good enough for illustration and distance renders. Enjoy =) Attached are: a screen shot on screen and in render window, the Solidworks appearance Files and the JPEG I used to create the pattern/texture
