He also chose Passargad to build monumental structures and majestic palaces that would serve as testaments to his greatness. Today, tourists flock to Passargad in Shiraz to pay their respects at the tomb of Cyrus the Great. Visitors can even enjoy a unique design feature - chess pieces are intricately carved into the tomb's surface.
