Chest Lock to prevent the lid of a box/chest to open by accident. The lock mechanism is a simple flat bolt holding the lock together. Easy to open and close. IMPORTANT 1: It is VERY IMPORTANT that you do not print this in a low resolution and your printer is calibrated. The Key and the Lock Bottom are a tight fit. If the resolution is too low they will never fit together. I recommend at least 0,1mm resolution. You could sand the threads a bit afterwards and give it some wd-40 (in that order ;-) or the dust will stick) if it still is a bit tight. IMPORTANT 2: Pay attention to the threads in the Lock Top and Lock Bottom. They can be joined in two ways. One of the way is wrong and the key will not fit through both parts. The correct fit is when the threads turns continuously through both parts. Happy Chest Locking! :-) Assemble: 1. The Lock Top and the Hinge is put together with one piece of filament (1,75mm) going through them both and being about 2-3mm too long. 2. The ends of the filament is then molten flat with some flat hot surface (this could be a spatula heated up 10 seconds by a hot gun). 3. The Lock Bottom is glued to the lower part of the chest (the box itself) and the Hinge to the top part of the chest (the lid). You can reverse it if you like, but that was not intended. The most precise way to glue it on to the chest is propably just to assemble all the parts and put in the key/bolt and then glue both parts on to the chest at once. Just remember not to glue the key - better unscrew it a tiny bit but so that it still just locks. --
