Chevy S-10 Hood Prop Rod Clip

Chevy S-10 Hood Prop Rod Clip

This is a clip used to hold the hood prop rod on a 2001 chevy S-10. Other year models with the same body style "should" be the same...just match the pic of the clip to confirm. I used PETG, printed at .2, 100% infill and needed some supports for the tab and "wings" that hold the clip into the radiator support. There are two openings in the radiator support. One is a slot and the other is a hole. The tab on the end fits into the slot and the wings snap into the hole. It helps to give a little push towards the slot since the tip of the wing barely...I mean barely clears the edge of the hole. You could use some sandpaper to round off the edges...or just give it a nudge and it should pop in. The prop rod fits nicely in the clip and doesn't need alot of force to engage/disengage it. I'm afraid if I made it too tight the clip would flex too much and snap. I printed this on it's back with the rod opening facing up (print as it looks in the model). Any other way may not allow the little wings of the clip to be printed correctly. It's only been tested a few days but seems to be doing well...especially in this colder weather (25 degrees). Try it out and let me know if it needs some rework. Enjoy!
