Suppose you have a toddler who has discovered that they can lock themselves in bedrooms and bathrooms by using the little button in the doorknob, but you, being a good caretaker of little ones, would rather be able to keep an eye on them.

FRET NOT!

Clip this thing over the top of a standard residential door in one direction and the door won't quite shut. Clip it in the same place but the other way round, and it doesn't do much of anything except sit there on top of the door, much like an over-door hook, within reach of most adults but too high up for small children.

Because a little clip like this is likely to fall off if it's not made for the exact thickness of door you have, I have made it adjustable so it can fit any door from 32mm to 36mm thick.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3 Pro

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.32mm

Infill:

20%

Filament:
[

](http://www.amazon.com/s?url=search-alias&field-keywords=Hatchbox+PLA&tag=thingiverse09-20)[ Hatchbox](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=hatchbox&linkCode=ll2&tag=thingiverse09-20&linkId=f798b0df863f056fa470f03a65697ff4&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) PLA white

Notes:

I printed this with a 0.8mm nozzle using the Cura "draft quality" 0.32mm profile. Instead, I designed in two adjustable ribs. Making those work goes as follows:
* Print the part with supports, remove the supports, and try to fit it over your door.

If it works—lucky you!

If the clip is too small, don't force it on. Just use your side cutters to adjust the ribs.

Done! I don't thick doorsthinner than 32mm are especially common, but if you have one, you might try scaling the model down in your slicer.

Category: Household
