Chippendale Mirror (18th Century) for Dollhouse

thingiverse

In putting together a dollhouse for my little granddaughter, I wanted to have one formal room with an 18th century look. This Chippendale mirror design was taken from an actual 18th century antique (see photo), but I've added a "gilt" insert which adds a little more pop to the design. The "mirror" is simply a small rectangle of aluminum foil. When complete, I sprayed the frame with a dark brown paint, and the insert with a gold metallic paint. The insert is placed in the groove (rabbet) within the mirror front using a couple of tiny drops of cyanoacrylate (CA) super glue.
