I like to hang Christmas lights along the gutters of the porch roof on my house, but the uneven ground makes using a ladder difficult and hanging them while sitting on the roof feels like an accident waiting to happen. There's a million different light clip designs out there, but I never saw any that seemed to be well designed for attaching with a pole. The portion of the clip that holds the wire is designed to be able to easily catch and grab while the wire is hanging out of hands' reach. The gutter-mounting portion of the clip is a simple, deep slot that adequately keeps the clip mounted, yet won't be a hassle to remove like other designs that hook around the lip of the gutter. The accompanying tool is designed to the clip reasonably securely while allowing the clip to be released with a simple downward tug once mounted. The mount for the tool is not threaded, so you'll want to use something to secure it to your pole of choice (I used a single wrap of duct-tape after fitting the tool over the end of the pole). Clip and tool dimensions can be easily altered by updating parameters at the top of the .scad file.
