Christmas Lights Gutter Clip

Today I decided to hang my icicle lights on the house. Step one was to spend 3 hours with the 3D printer making clips so that I could quickly mount the lights on the gutter. That said I'm incredibly pleased with how revision 3 turned out. I purchased the 12' icicle lights at Sam's http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=prod3600087&searchTerm=icicle%20lights they have multiple strands of wire wound together. I designed the clip so that I could pre-install them on the wire then hang them from the gutter. The gutter I have has a 0.7" wide lip on top and then bends together. The point of the story is, these clips work amazingly for my gutter and the lights I'm hanging and I hope they work great for yours, but I suggest trying it first. Instructions There are 3 files: IcicleLightClip_rev03.stl is the clip by itself so you can test print IcicleLightClip_rev03_6x.stl is 6 clips placed in the build area IcicleLightClip_rev03_6x_centered.stl has been centered on the build platform, in case you have any issues Speaking of issues, I have had some trouble printing them 6 at a time. I think I need to make some adjustments to my printer, especially lightly oiling all the ways. Each print there has been at least one of the six which bent up, the first time the part was still usable, the second time it actually dragged 2 parts and I had to discard them. I did print them all raftlessly, which may contribute to the issues I've been having. If the test print works with your lights and your gutter, then print them in large quantities. Suggest you print, pre-attach to your light strand and then hang from your gutter. That way you will spend much less time out in the cold! Merry Christmas and don't fall off of any ladders!
