Christmas Rope Light Clips

Christmas Rope Light Clips

thingiverse

These are clips for mounting Christmas Rope Lights on your roof (sort of an U.S. thing). The ones available in stores or that come with the lights are brittle, oriented the wrong way, or intended for non-rope lights. The longest one is designed to clip to a roof-ridge shingle and run the rope along the ridge. The medium-length clip goes under the shingle at the edge of the roof. The bumps help hold it in place. The smallest clip is for screwing into the eave to hold the rope lights. This is similar to what comes with the lights, but is thicker so it doesn't crack after a year in the sun. These need to be printed in ABS, since PLA will soften in the sun and get brittle with exposure. I lowered my Z-axis tuning by about 0.1mm to help the ABS stick to the build plate. This creates a slight ridge/brim along one edge, but that doesn't hurt the functionality.
