Christmas Story leg lamp remix for LED lighting

Edit: added the tag RemixChallenge even though neither of the source items are in the challenge collection, because I put a bunch of good work into this remix, and the stuff in the challenge collection doesn't interest me. I did read the rules, unlike a bunch of the other remixes in the challenge. ;) I printed out the Christmas story leg lamp (http://www.thingiverse.com/make:268173) with the revised shade (http://www.thingiverse.com/make:268181) for a coworker. Another coworker saw it and loved it, but wanted to convert his to have an LED light inside of it vs. just adding a tea light. I had the idea to print the leg portion with a 0% infill (hollow) so he could run wiring up through the leg, but discovered that the original lamp base has the foot intact - with toes - so that was a complication. Also, the original base was far too small for the electronics that we had planned, so I worked on the base, cutting out the hidden stuff, then stitching it back together. I modeled a new base and added that on, and was able to print it hollow. For the shade, since we didn't need access for a tea lamp, I took the revised lamp shade, cut it in half and mirrored it. Buncha cleanup later and we have a fully intact lampshade. Print the base in whatever color you wish, but print the shade in a transparent filament so it glows nicely. For the assembled version, we used a 10mm high intensity diffuse gumdrop LED. Battery was a CR2032 in the base, and a switch was installed in the side. More detail photos to follow. Update: 18 Dec 2019 Looking at this project I happened to run across this positively impressive remix of jetpuf's remix which looks to be printed out a whole bunch closer to actual size! Well done, Roseks! Print Settings Printer: Monoprice Maker Ultimate Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 0% Notes: Printed hollow for ease of running wires through the leg. Supports are necessary as the base is hollow.
