A fun little Christmas tree. The Christmas tree shown has all 10 branches. However, the tree can be printed with fewer branches. 12.16.2017 update adds a star to replace the top branch (branch 10) with star_171216b.stl The 1.7.2016 update corrects issues with the .stl files that were noted by C_D. The updated files were recreated in a later version of Sketchup and do not show any problems when checked by NetFabb Instructions The tree can be printed with 4 to 10 branches. The "stand" will fit into the bottom of branches 1 through 7. To print all 10 branches, print branches 1 thru 10 plus stand To print only 9 branches, print branches 2 thru 10 plus the stand To print only 8 branches, print branches 3 thru 10 plus the stand ... To print only 4 branches, print branches 7 thru 10 plus stand --- BEGIN UPDATE 12.17.2012 --- added file xmas_tree_160107_78910stand.stl print the stand and branches 7, 8, 9 and 10 at one time added file xmas_tree_160107_56.stl to print branches 5 & 6 at one time Note: all prints fit in a 100 mm by 100 mm print platform --- END UPDATE --- Print the desired number of branches plus the stand. Check the holes and pins. --- Clean up with an Exacto knife if necessary. --- If the pins did not print well, simply cut them off --- Glue the parts together with acetone To make the tree look a bit more realistic from any angle, curl up the ends of the branches.
