Christmas Tree Star

Christmas Tree Star

thingiverse

Here is my Christmas tree star using an Arduino and WS2812. It prints with very minimal, if any, support material. Assembly was all light snap fit for me. NOTE: The STL files were created in inches. Use a scale factor of 25.4 if you are using millimeters. Print the following: 3X Star_Point_Default 2X Star_Point_Support 2X Star_Cap_Default 10X Star_Clip_Default 1X Star_PCBHolder_Default 1X Star_PCBHolder_Mate 1X Star_Base_Default I also put a triangular piece of cardstock (template STL file included) in the middle of each point to minimize bleed. Print Settings Resolution: .013in Infill: Solid Notes: My printer does 0.013" layer thickness and .026" width per pass. The points were designed with a wall thickness of .052" so that it would be printed with 2 passes. Material used: "HATCHBOX ABS-1KG1.75-TWHT ABS 3D Printer Filament, Dimensional Accuracy +/- 0.05 mm, 1 kg Spool, 1.75 mm, Transparent White" Arduino and LEDs I used 10 WS2812 LEDs on PCBs, and soldered them in a row using bus wire, and then bent them in a circle. For the Arduino program, I mostly used the FastLED example program "DemoReel100" and then I tweeked a few things. Code is on github. Video on youtube.
