Chrysler Building Eagle Gargoyle

Chrysler Building Eagle Gargoyle

pinshape

This is a model of the art deco stainless steel eagle gargoyles on the Chrysler Building in New York City. I originally modeled this in Sketchup to be made out of sheet metal, so it is a little blockier than the actual sculpture. The model in the picture is printed at 35% scale with 0.15 mm layer height and no support. Rotate the model so that the nose is upward to avoid supports.  I originally designed this in Sketchup to be made out of card stock or sheet metal, so the shapes were created to ultimately be made into flat patterns.
