#Chunky Chevy ##You’re either gonna love it or hate it My fellow 3D model makers this project represents a huge departure from my other models. First of all, this is a single print/part 3D model – no assembly is required. Secondly, this is neither a scale model nor is it a particularly accurate one, either. You might call it an “artistic interpretation” of an automobile. Finally, and most importantly, this model _must_ be printed with support. Now let’s take a look at the inspiration for this model. ###The Car in Front of the Model This project began its life as a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air – as a convertible model, no less. As I struggled to capture the “essence” of a Chevy Bel Air, I deviated more and more into a characterization of a Bel Air rather than a scale reproduction. Slowly, after several 3D prints and reprints, I completely embraced the chunky style and finalized the project into this model – the Chunky Chevy. ###The Model I realize that this model might not appeal to you; and that’s OK. It’s an abstraction of the Bel Air form emphasizing the large-scale body dimensions that were prevalent with American automobiles in the 1950s. But, for you scale purists, the distinctive spear trim character piece that adorns the rear half side panels of the Bel Air was retained in this model. Before you begin, you _must_ add support structure with your slicing/printing software. You will need to remove this support structure from the completed model. Finally, this model has been designed to print on any 3D printer with a 6-x6-inch build bed. Enjoy. ###A Request Oh, and if you’d like to help support my 3D projects, you should consider purchasing a copy of my newest book, “Something’s Funny in the Air.” This is a satirical romp through history that is intended for mature audiences. You can purchase your very own paperback copy of “Something’s Funny in the Air” on Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0875F7WS3 And you can purchase a digital copy of “Something’s Funny in the Air” for your Kindle (both device and App): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0872HHWQH The retail price = $5.95 for paperback. The retail price = $5.95 for Kindle version. Finally, you can read all about me on my author page: amazon.com/author/daveprochnow Thank you.
