This 4 1/2 inch tall Christmas Tree Ornament is a scale down from the larger Steeple Candy Dish that was posted last month (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3924018). The design is a 3d sketch of the steeple of the First United Church of Christ in Easton, PA. The project ended up being in two pieces - so they need to be glued together and a wire loop. for the Christmas tree hook, needs to be glued to the hollow top of the steeple. The current church building was built in 1775-76 and was used as a hospital for wounded and infirm Revolutionary War soldiers after the battles of Trenton, Brandywine, and Germantown. in the 1830s the church's steeple was built and designed by an important young architect named Thomas Ustick Walter who eventually gained notoriety and designed The Capital Building Dome in Washington. The steeple on that church remains the tallest structure in Easton, PA. Funding for its restoration has been ongoing in 2019.https://www.firstucceaston.org/our-church-history/our-steeple-a-clock-tower.html
