Chuwi Hi8 pro - Power Up Case

My opinion: The wonderful low-price tablet paired with a low-power battery, for me in the long term an unacceptable condition. This tablet is extremely versatile and powerful, try it absolutely. Wow, Android 5.1 and Windows10, with a total of 32GB memory plus SD card optional up to 128GB. If this tablet is set up and well configured, then you have a reliable companion for everyday life. Price and performance here are almost upper class. But this under-sized integrated battery spoils the fun of the thing. This is why it is now available for every DIY hobbyist: The Chuwi Hi8pro PowerUp Case. Nearly twice the battery power for everyone. But beware: All technical changes to the hardware are your own responsibility, and may result in the loss of any warranty. Handle with the electronic hardware and especially with Li-Ion / Li-Poly accumulators can cause dangerous situations despite all caution. In case of doubt, please be advised and supported by qualified persons if you lack the necessary knowledge for a perfect procedure. Before publishing: I have tested everything carefully and over a period of several weeks. So I found this modification to be good and safe. Nevertheless, I take no responsibility at this point! Please also download the picture package: There you will find (...without many words) as far as self-explanatory further information about the modification of the Chuwi Hi8 pro Tablet. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Supports: No Resolution: @0.1mm Infill: 33% Notes: Minadax PLA 2.85mm @45mm/s @200 degrees Celsius Post-Printing Apart from suitable tools, you also need: Fundamentals of electronics and soldering experience. Different types of li-Ion / Li-Polymer batteries with Protection-Board and a maximum dimension of 4mm x 119.5mm x 171mm. A suitable connector m/w, for example MR30 + Silicone cable, suitable for currents up to a maximum of 3 amperes. Hot glue. heat shrink tubing. foam rubber buffer with a thickness of 5mm. How I Designed This Insufficient battery power... Without Modifikation: (+) Narrow and handy housing. (+) Low weight including battery. (-/+) Below average good battery performance. But low charging time until completion. (+) Protective covers officially available. (-) Battery difficult to access and complicated to replace. After Modifikation: (+/-) Still a very handy device. But now a total of 16 mm thick. On each housing side it is only a plus of 1.5mm thickness. (-) Total weight of the tablet without original battery...275g...plus nearly...60...grams for the power case, plus the weight of the selected new battery...150g...Total weight: ~485 Grams. (+/-) Nearly twice the battery power. But a much longer charging time until completion. (-/+) No protective covers officially available. But the 3D printed case provides some protection for the device housing and the new battery. (+/-) Different types of batteries with a maximum of 4mm x 119.5mm x 171mm selectable and easily interchangeable. But always a suitable connecting plug must be soldered. Always keep your modifications in mind: !!! Do not use batteries without protective electronics (BMS-BatteryManagementSystem). Unprotected batteries with direct polarity connections are absolutely unsuitable and extremely risky in this application !!! Attention: !!! Never leave your active tablet unattended. It is possible that thermal problems can not be completely excluded. For example, an excessive use of the device during the charging process, or generally an unintentionally high system load over an extended period of time, can result in overheating and burning of the new battery !!!
