Roman philosopher, politician and lawyer. Cicero was an impressive orator who greatly influenced Latin language and literature. His writings had particular influence during the 18th century Enlightenment on writers like Sir Walter Scott. This death mask differs from the other bust of Cicero in The Anatomical Museum's collection, and highlights the differences in how people in power wanted to be represented.
