Clamp hooks for a 15.5mm (5/8") diameter rail

We have an Ikea wall mounted dish drainer. The wall mounting is a long rail from which the dish drainer hangs and a lot of left over rail and S shaped hooks so that cups, or strainers, etc can be suspended from the rail. I found the supplied hooks (S-shaped Stainless Steel) annoying as they were a very loose fit and easily moved out of position when casually hanging something from them. I wanted hooks that 'held their position' and didn't require so much concentration - or hand eye coordination. Hence these hooks. The slighter one requires only one M3 screw, but requires partial disassembly of the rail, the other does not require any disassembly but requires 2 M3 x 10mm long screws. (I use stainless steel button head cap screws.) The slighter one can only carry light articles. I recommend lighter than 250gms. There's no science behind this figure but I do know that this hook will not support a mug weighing 370gm long term. Looks fine to start with but the hook fails (where the handle of the mug rests) after approx one year. However it seems OK carrying a strainer which weights about 220gms. Hence the more rugged hook. Hopefully this will hold the mug 'forever'. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker Original Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 100% Notes: Actually I used the Ultimaker to make the slighter hooks in PLA and a Robox to make the sturdier hooks in ABS. If the Ultimaker has been available I'd have made the sturdier hooks on in in PLA. How I Designed This Designed in Moment of Inspiration (MOI).
